Jose Cruz Jr., of Springfield, faces multiple felonies following the alleged attack around 4 p.m. at Fun City Adventure Park on Liberty Street on Saturday, Oct. 21, Springfield Police said.
Police arrived at the amusement park to a large crowd of people — adults and children — arguing, officials said. Witnesses explained that Cruz had punched a pregnant woman he knew in the face, and another person was also assaulted, officials said.
Springfield police arrested Cruz and charged him with:
- Assault and battery on a pregnant female
- Disorderly conduct
- Assault and battery
He also had open arrest warrants for:
- Possession of a Class B drug
- Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
- Motor vehicle lights violation
Cruz and another family member were trespassed from the park.
